Join us for this month’s EALTHY webinar in which Viriginia Allum will be in conversation with Katie Booth, a Primary Care Clinical Pharmacist in Scotland. Virginia and Katie will be discussing the language used in pharmacy and how it has changed recently. Virginia and Katie will talk about the language pharmacists use to talk to their patients about treatment, working collaboratively with patients and how pharmacists use language to deal with patients who are stressed or upset.
The session will provide a valuable insight for any teachers who are currently working on English for Pharmacy courses, preparing students to take OET Pharmacy or for any teachers who work in Medical English Education.

She has previously worked as a Boots Pharmacist Store Manager and clinical services pharmacist in various locations across England and Scotland. Katie also currently works as a Pharmacy Consultant for Cambridge University Press and Assessment. When she isn’t being a pharmacist, she’ll likely be enjoying time with her family on our wild island home, surfing, making pottery or doing her best to be an eco-warrior. Virginia Allum Virginia Allum is Head of Medical English at SLC , an internationally-renowned course writer, and a registered nurse in the UK. Her publications include co-authoring the Cambridge English for Nursing and the Cambridge Guide to OET Nursing textbooks, as well as writing SLC’s online English courses for doctors, nurses, care workers, medical terminology and OET preparation, used by universities and colleges around the world. Virginia also writes for the OET English for Healthcare test.
